Here are some tips on how to clean and care for this treasured piece and preserve its authenticity. Always try to keep the piece dirt-free and a little gentle buffing can help your item age gracefully.

 

Basic handy tools for cleaning; soft and smooth piece of cloth for the sensitive parts; fine steel wool for the rough areas; toothbrush or toothpicks for the hard to reach areas such as nooks, crannies, or edges; and, oil to give it a shine.. Be careful when cleaning the fragile areas which include the mouldings and decorative areas. DO NOT rub hard or excessively, as you could damage the finish and cause discolouring.

 

100% beeswax will assist to condition natural timbers and fill in any natural movement or imperfections that may occur in the timber over time. Waxing is recommended approx every 3 months, using a soft cloth.
