Giving Back to The Community

SCHOOL SPONSORSHIPS

One of Vast's key motives is to assist in the local communities where we manufacture our furniture. This currently includes the sponsorship of a school of over 700 girls in Jaipur, India. For the past 3 years, in partnership with our suppliers, we have built classrooms, installed ceiling fans, put in a water bore for clean drinking water, painted the school, and of course updated some of their furniture!

 

We have built a great relationship with this first school, (they put on an awesome concert each year we visit) and we feel very privileged to be involved with such a great community. Over the next 12 months Vast hopes to extend this program into another 5 schools.

 

CLINICS FOR KIDS

In the latter half of 2007, Vast has partnered with it's local Indian suppliers to set up the 'Vast Kids Clinic' in Faridibad, Delhi. This clinic opens 3 days per week and offers free medical and dental advice, as well as medicine and dental supplies to children and pregnant women,

 

The Clinic has 2 GPs, 1 ear-nose-throat specialist, 1 gynaecologist, and 1 dentist. This Clinic is currently treating over 300 patients each week. Most of those being children who otherwise would not be able to afford basic health care.

 

This is a new venture for Vast, but already the local response had been overwhelming. We look forward to making 'Vast Care' available to other communities.

 

THE BOTTOM LINE

Sure, we want to make a profit, but lets try to make a difference at the same time. By partnering with our suppliers to fund kids medical clinics and schools in developing communities we can do this.

 

Our ultimate goal is to try and improve the world by 1 degree (we reckon if 359 other companies do the same thing we can create a revolution).
